Rees (Rudy Sarzo) Bass

I remembered the old Quite Riot film clips and thought they were playing some very unusual guitars.

When I looked into it I discovered that Rudy Sarzo and Carlos Carvazo both played Washburn guitars but Sarzo’s was not like the B-70 it was the ugliest signature design I’d ever seen so that was it I had to have one.

I built this out of Victorian Ash and it has a brilliant sound to it but aside from the tonal Australian timber it also has some extraordinary electronics, the humbucker pickups are coil tapped selected by a 3-way toggle switch which then runs into a circuit board that has a 2 band EQ and a rotary switch that allows it to go from passive/active/overdrive/chorus.
