This is one of my first creations, when I got together with the boys from a Van Halen tribute we set about recreating Eddie’s guitar and Alex’s drums just like every other Van Halen tribute before us. The one thing we had never seen before was Michael Anthony’s Jack Daniel’s bass from the Panama film clip and on stage bass solo’s, so I decided to give it a crack.

I started out with some Victorian Ash, shaped it up, grabbed a neck from an old P-Bass, re-shaped the headstock, put in a EMG pick up and custom painted it.

The sound from this big slab of Vic Ash with a EMG in it is incredible and with the Jack Daniel’s artwork on it, it made for a brilliant on stage prop with no compromise in sound quality.
