This customer had owned this 1969 Fender Stratocaster since new and obviously never really looked after it, in fact he admitted to flat out punishing the guitar through out the years.

He decided he wanted to restore the guitar but when I saw it the body had been rubbed back with a belt sander one too many times and left the tremolo block protruding the back and the neck plate overhanging the body I realised there was no way of restoring this body and it would need to be replaced.

So I ordered a new body with the original vintage shape, route and timber.  I  painted it in Olympic White with an aged nitro type clear then "Reliced" the finish to suit the neck.

I then went about replacing all the non genuine parts for vintage correct Fender parts, then using certain chemicals I tarnished the nickle plated parts to look more like the vintage of the guitar and perfectly match the original 1969 neck.

Relicing is just another service we can provide here at Custom Guitar Works, give Cam a call on 0400 195 155
